The Northeast Kingdom

The area where we live, and where we're getting married, is commonly referred to as the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. The NEK is a rural, pretty remote area, with deep woods, beautiful mountains, clear rivers and moose galore. We're getting married on the side of a ski area, so there are some amenities nearby. Our hope is that while you're coming to the NEK for our wedding, you might stay to ride your mountain bike, go for a hike, paddle a canoe or fish in our lakes or streams. East Burke, our town, was rated one of the 101 Best Outdoor Towns in the US, and one of Boston Magazine's Best of New England. Hopefully we can direct you to the right people or the right places to find some fun while you're in town!

Lodging

Hotels/Motels: We've blocked off rooms at the Fairbanks Inn and the Comfort Inn in St. Johnsbury. St. J is about 20 minutes from Burke, but these are big hotels and won't probably fill; but when you make your reservation, just mention the Amorello/Damon wedding for a discount.

Condos: Condos are definitely a more convenient option and come in all sizes around and on Burke Mountain. A local realtor (and our former landlord) is going to handle condo rentals for those that are interested. She'll give you a discount if you say you're coming for our wedding, too. Send an email to Lawrie Easterbrooks at Burke Vacation Rentals for condos or give her a call at 802-626-1161!

Camping: Plenty of space available. We've got space in our yard, or if you're more interested in a campground or plan to be around for a few days, there is a campground .5 miles from the wedding - they also have lean-tos, but no hookups for RVs.
